Anti-Hunting and Education
Dave,Jr.(JHWT)
We, as hunters, will continue to hunt and practice wildlife conservation in it's purest form. Groups, such as PETA and other anti-hunting individuals, will continue their efforts to bring about the practices that would only be injurious to all wildlife populations. Most individuals that join these anti-hunting organizations have not taken the time to study and educate themselves on what true wildlife conservation is all about. The majority of these folks are merely following the crowd.
On the other hand, hunters have for many generations, passed on to their sons and daughters, the knowledge they have gained about the sound principles of conservation and game management. They not only have taken the time to learn these principles, but they are out in the field every day practicing them. Building and restoring habitat, minimizing predation effects, and contributing their hard earned dollars to see wildlife flourish. Busy passing on the heritage of our forefathers.
We are called upon, not to argue, but to encourage those individuals and organizations that endeavor to bring about an end to the rich tradition of hunting. Urge these folks, who for the most part, have good intentions of protecting wildlife, to do the research into wildlife conservation and management practices. We, as hunters, should raise our voices to promote education, as opposed to making scornful remarks. Educating anti-hunters as to the many benefits that wildlife are the recipients of, when sound management and conservation practices are followed. This is the first step in helping them realize what hunting is all about.
We are also indebted to the many talented individuals and educators' who are employed by the natural resources agencies around the country. Support your States', and the National natural resources and game management agencies. Without these fine folks, and their dedicated service, the education would not be available for any of us, hunters and non-hunters alike.
